India bans PUBG, and 118 other Chinese mobile applications

Center Government banned 118 more Chinese apps including PUBG

On Wednesday, the Center banned 118 more Chinese apps, including PUBG, amid a deadlock with China on the Line of Actual Control.

According to the central government, they were engaged in such activities which are prejudicial to the sovereignty, integrity and security of the state.

The Ministry of Information Technology has received several complaints about misuse of these apps for servers located outside India for stealing and secretly using users’ data in an unauthorized manner.

It expressed deep concern over the compilation, mining and profiling of data by hostile elements for national security.

Noting that the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center, MHA, has sent a full recommendation to block these malicious apps, the IT Ministry said that there is a bipartisan concern for taking strict action in public spaces, along with public representatives.

The apps have been banned in both mobile and non-mobile Internet-enabled devices, with the Center expressing confidence that the move will protect the interests of crores of Indian mobile and Internet users.
